The Blue Cave
The Blue Cave is located on the island of Biševo and is one of the favorite tourist destinations.
With regard to its geomorphologic characteristics, the cave is particularly interesting and represents a typical limestone structure.
The special attractions in the cave are the distinctive light effects created by the fracture and reflection of sun rays from the sea bottom.
Between 11 and 12 o'clock the sun's rays enter the cave through the entrance, which is under the sea, breaking and creating an unreal blue light in the cave. Seawater sparkles and illuminates the rocks at a depth of up to 16 meters. Since the boat stops for ten minutes, the time can be used for swimming and enjoying the unique pearl of nature.
In addition, on Biševo island, in the Mezoporat bay, there is a port with a dozen berths, which can serve as a temporary shelter from the strong northeastern wind bura.
