The Brgujac

The Brgujac (Bargujac) village was founded as a fishermen's port on the small peninsula of the same name in the middle of the most developed part of the south-eastern shore of the island of Vis.

One kilometer on the asphalt road from Podstražje, and shallow waters that separate it from the islets of Budihovac and Ravnik it has always been amongst the best fishing spots in this area.

Although it had gradually been turning into a weekend settlement since the 1970s up to the present day, Bargujac has retained much of its original charm.

That is why it is not strange for many people to consider it one of the most beautiful shore hamlets on Vis.

It is not even overcrowded on the small beach and on the rocks of Bargujac bay in the Ferragosto period whilst the goat's path will easily take you to the most beautiful beach in Vis, the sandy Zaglav.

Accommodation is provided in summer cottages, apartments, and converted fishermen's houses.
