Marine zemlje is the name of the eight hamlets hidden within the hills which are reachable when turning from the old road to Komiža towards the south, just after exiting the village of Plisko polje.
These hamlets were never included on the map and are called after the families who settled there.
There is an asphalt road leading to the Vela and Mala Travna bays, where local people have their fishermen's cottages.
That is why the part of the shore, including the Ruda bay, is known as the Marinjonska Riviera.
Marine zemlje is a forest area, rich with olive groves and orchards.
It is famous for its numerous almond trees that here, hidden from the bura (north-easterly wind), produce the most fruits as well as for the ancient olive mill which was used up to the end of 20th century.
The hamlet of Belotovo is famous for the family agriculture of the same name whilst in Karuzićevo it is always possible to find appropriate accommodation.
